Arisile’s skyline loomed there in the night, its lights burning brightly with the mysterious power of the Eye.
“HISSSSSS – BOOOM”
The ground shook as the shards of ice shattered against the cobblestone street.
“HISSSS – THOOOM”
The sound got closer and closer. Out from between the buildings came running the two little penguins, innocent birds that had somehow stumbled into this fighting tournament swarming with powerful competitors.
They ran as fast as they could, Vogel almost dragging Pengu by his head loop. They dodged and ducked between the buildings as Galatas followed closely, firing shots of ice at them. He didn’t intend to hurt them… Only to capture the penguins in the ice. It wasn’t working so well thus far.
A large piece of ice shattered so the right of the birds, “I’ve got to do some serious aim practice…” Galatas thought, missing the penguins by a long shot, again.
Vogel veered left as the shard flew at them, smashing into the ground and sending chunks of ice all over. The penguin tripped on one, smacking the pavement face-first. He lifted himself us, shaking the fall. His eyes turned to the icicle, “That’s it!” he exclaimed, setting pengu behind him as he mounted a block of Galatas’ ice, and zipped down the main street of Arisile, straight towards Skierhett’s tower.
“Ack! No! They’re getting away!”, Galatas shouted in annoyance. The iceamancer gathered what water he could to make a board under his feet, and soon he was speeding down the same path, tailing the penguins closely. He shot a couple of shards at them, hoping to knock them off of their speedy ride.
All he really needed was to get close enough to shift the block of ice they rode, but the penguins proved to be amazingly skilled sliders. They swerved and banked just enough to throw Galatas off whenever he came close enough to be a problem.
“Pengu! Pe-pengu!!” the little penguin shouted to Vogel as the shards of ice flew past them. “I know! I know!” the larger penguin replied, “This is getting too dangerous! We HAVE to get to the Skier-guy!”
“Just give me the necklaces!” shouted Galatas from behind them, “ Then you can just go home!”. Vogel looked back in annoyance, “We can’t! The Skier-guy won’t help us get to Greenland if we give them to you!”. Galatas paused, mouth hanging open, “GREENLAND?!!? Do you have any idea what this is ABOUT!?!”
------------------
Kit stirred a bit as the cool night air whistles overhead. Opening her eyes a bit, she noticed that the fire had died down. She sat up straight, still covered in Galatas’ coat, “Frosty?”, there was no answer. “Where did he go?” she thought, pushing her arms through the sleeves of the coat and standing up. “I sure hope he didn’t just abandon me, cause if he did, I’m gonn-” she paused as she felt something heavy in the left coat pocket.
She pulled out a very well ornamented disk… thing. “What’s this?” she whispered, flipping it over. The object was covered in strange markings. Kit could tell it was some sort of magical artifact, being the treasure hunter that she was. She was usually quite knowledgeable about this kind of thing, but she had no idea what it did…
Kit tried pressing symbols, flipping the inner disks around, chewing on it, banging it against a wall. All useless. “I’ll just have to find him and ask about it, I guess.” She said, finally giving up. She continued walking down the streets.
“CRASH!”, Kit whirled around, hearing the loud smashing sound. If she knew anything about Galatas, it was that his fights made a TON of noise. The kitsune bolted in the direction of the crash.
--------------
The penguins still sledded down the sloping streets of Arisile. Pengu looked back to check on the crazy man that followed them. What he saw surprised him.
Galatas was now driving an enormous MONSTER TRUCK of ice after them! The little penguin tugged at Vogel, “PENNN!” he gasped, both shouted and squawked patting at the ground in an attempt to row the icicle faster down the street. Vogel pitched it sideways, curving straight into an alley between a pair of tall buildings. Galatas’ large vehicle stopped at the entrance, “Huh, impressive!” he said as he unassembled the truck, reforming it as a huge spider which he began using to climb the walls of the buildings. “Luckily, I’m not stuck to one shape! It’s only a matter of time till I catch you, you might as well just give up!”. The iceamancer skittered quickly across the rooftops, following the sliding penguins closely from above, waiting for a mistake in their precarious riding as they swished and sped between the buildings on the smaller streets and alleyways below.
---------------
“Looks like we’re about to have some company…” the Eye whispered in Skierhett’s mind, “Your little penguin friends have done an incredible job of surviving this far… But it seems they have found an adversary that is far beyond them…”. The young man stood by the window, as he had done for the better half of the tournament. Team Vogel, as he called them, “Team Bird”… they had been strangely lucky during the entire tournament thus far. They defeated 3 adversaries, they had taken 8 necklaces, and yet the Eye seemed to still not affect them even in the slightest. Fortune was certainly on their side… Or maybe it was something else… “Indeed. But they know full well that I cant help them unless they WIN.” He paused, thinking about the Eye’s purpose. “What if the penguins win? What will happen to you?”.  The Eye turned towards Skierhett, “I don’t know. I had no intention for non-sentient creatures to enter the city… the very fact that they where IN Arisile when they where was completely out of my control! Freak luck, as you might call it. The fact is that there are three sentient creatures in the tournament, and two animals. Their chances are low now, all we can do is wait and watch.”
-----------------
Galatas’ ice spider crashed to the ground in front of the penguins as they came out into the open again. He was in range now, and took control of the icicle they rode, morphing it into chains that quickly closed around them. But they got away, squeezing through the slippery ice chains and diving into the water canal. Galatas grinned, “You’re in MY territory now little birds!”, he shouted, hopping on to the water’s suddenly frozen surface. He began to run, trying to catch up to the quick swimming team of birds, freezing the water beneath him as he ran pushed with each step by footholds in his newly formed “floor”. The penguins swam as fast as they could through the quickly cooling water, just ahead of the reach of Galatas’ power. Penguins or not, they could distinctly feel the change in the water’s temperature as they struggled to swim faster. Galatas practically surfed the floor he had made, giving it enough angle to propel him swiftly across the ice towards his prey. The water below whirled and twisted into shapes of dragons with wings and large teeth as it froze just a few feet behind Pengu and Vogel. The penguins nodded to each other, confirming that staying in the water could quickly become bad, and speedily made their way towards the surface, hopping out of the water like little torpedoes and running down the street bordering the canal. The iceamancer didn’t bother with walking again. He simply rode the ice out of the canal, bringing a great deal of the water with him. He quickly approached the penguins as they ran. Vogel grabbed Pengu’s head loop and pulled him over in the direction of an alley as they dodged yet another spike of ice that flew in their direction.
“OH NO YOU DON’T!” Galatas shouted, realizing that if they made it into the alley, he might lose them again. He made his ride into a wall of ice and slid it towards the alley entrance as he lunged at the penguins ahead. Vogel slammed into the barrier, bringing Pengu into it with him. His back pouch flexed open, scattering the eight necklaces they had claimed from the previous opponents in the air, as Galatas fell towards them.
The necklaces fell in Galatas’ flight path, and made their way mysteriously on to his wrists, neck and one even hung on his left ear, as he tumbled across the ground beside the confused penguins. Everything seemed to stop. He fell unconscious.
Kit walked into the scene, carrying the mysterious device she found in the coat’s pocket. She turned the corner and saw Galatas unconscious on the ground, two penguins hobbling in circles with dazed looks. “W-wha..?” was all she could seem to say as she surveyed that weird  scenario.
Suddenly, Galatas sat up abruptly, teeming with a blue visible aura. Kit had seen something similar earlier that night. Master Nofu attacked using aura powers that resembled this a lot. But this aura did not come from Galatas. It came from another mysterious source… small glints of light that hung around him like… “The NECKLACES!” she exclaimed.
The iceamancer stood slowly, the blue aura swirling around him. He opened his eyes, the small glowing irises spreading to bright shining spots of light. His range spread much wider as he pulled all of the water out of the canal a few yards away and twisted it into sharp shapes above and around him.

Illea peeked around the corner where she hid, watching the battle. “What is happening?!!?” she though.

:iconspirogs: versus :iconmindofgenius:

Finished, finally.
If I win this, Galatas is going to need a new reff sheet.

Haha, I quickly met MindOfGenius at the very beginning of this tourney... even drew his character reference sheet for Team Vogel.
Sadly, I didn't get the time to draw it as a comic... I sketched it, mind you, but college work has taken it's toll =P

If I win though, i have every intention to take the fight to either Kimi or Norada =P
Final round will be pure epic =D

Team Vogel is (c) to :iconmindofgenius:

Say, if ya don't mind, in your final round...

PLEASE GIVE THE PENGUINS SOME WAY TO GET TO GREENLAND! DX either by another hunk of ice, or possibly air mail via a cardboard box...
